TOWN CENTRE, NOVEMBER 2021
Royal Tunbridge Wells Together supplies and funds the Christmas lights scheme for the town centre, having taken over the provision of the lights in 2020. 2021 saw the second year of the display, including a new reindeer sculpture in Calverley Square, new lights for Chapel Place and additional columns added to Camden Road.
FREE CHRISTMAS DOOR BOWS
TOWN CENTRE, NOVEMBER 2021
2021 saw the return of the BID's popular fabric door bow giveaway, gifting businesses a free item of decor to get wrapped up for Christmas. The scheme will be back and bigger than ever for Xmas 2022.
CLOCK TOWER REMEMBRANCE DISPLAY
CALVERLEY PRECINCT, NOVEMBER 2021
The RTW Together Business Improvement District counted down to the period of Remembrance for 2021 with a large-scale display in Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre. The BID will dress the clock tower in Calverley Precinct in a striking collection of artificial poppies and autumnal foliage, cascading down the legs and onto the base of the landmark
BID Director for RTW Together, Sarah-Jane Adams, explains “Remembrance is always an important time of year, and this year perhaps more than ever, we have reason to stop and reflect on not just those we’ve lost recently, but those who came before and the contribution that the Armed Forces have played for all of us, throughout history and still today. We hope this display will be a poignant way to mark the changing of the seasons, pay our respects to those who have and continue to serve their country, and provide a beautiful point of interest for the top end of Tunbridge Wells town centre.”
FREE SELF DEFENCE CLASSES
TOWN CENTRE, OCTOBER 2021 - SPRING 2022
The RTW Together BID provided 200 town centre workers the chance to attend a free professional, one hour self defence class, instructed by Surge Self Defence. We also gifted a free personal alarm for attendees.
The session covered topics and physical elements such as:
Being grabbed from behind and evading the hold, being grabbed by the wrist, escaping a chokehold, knife defence, mugging, being followed, bag defence – how what we carry can be used as a defensive weapon and the legality of self defence – the law regarding defending oneself and what we can / cannot do.

HIGH STREET, AUGUST 2021

FREE MONEY SAVING CONSULTANCY
SUMMER 2021-SPRING 2022
